Forsaken Stars Issue Five, Page 12
Took a week, took my time. Hope you like it. Been working on a whole lot of other projects, and a couple of them with the idea that they would bring folks here.
Created a logo and image for the rock band Trial about three weeks ago, and there’s still some art I’m working on for them, and I can’t wait for them to start using it to promote themselves. Their sound reminded me of Azzi’s own late 70s/early 80s hard rock star incarnation, Ah-Zahh, and in turn the folks with Trial love Azzi’s look, so they’ve got some music bubbling for me. Pretty excited about that!
Wrote the script for issue #18 of The Legend of the Knyghtmare, and also hurriedly working on the cover for it–one of the things I learned almost immediately about LOTK creator John East is that he is fast–so that it can go up as soon as he’s done posting issue #17 which looks to be any day now!
I’ve also been working pretty consistently on fan appreciation art and fan packs for a few folks. And there’s more to come. So stay tuned!
Nice Rob. I always look forward to the next one. The shading on this one jumped out at me. I had to back a few pages to see if it was just me and no – this one is more…detailed….
Next time we are together, talk to me about cover art for my e-book. I know you have a lot of projects going on so lets talk…fees:-)
Thanks! Yeah, this one I spent some time on to get right, and before I publish this issue, I will likely go over the previous pages again and add more washes and blacks. The idea was to go noir for Fabius’ story, but I find it hard to lay down heavy blacks, particularly their placement. Al Williamson, Jim Steranko and Frank Miller are the kings of doing this, so I look to their work for inspiration. Hard to work in palm trees and blinds on a space station though!
And oooh, I’m honored, I was sure your incredibly talented wife would have a hand in that. Although, I suppose I am the cheaper way to go! 😀
