Black Gum Concept Art Page Two and Inktober Day Two – “(A House) Divided”
Day Two, Inktober. Divided (house) — John Hunt aka Bulletproof is divided between pleasing his father and making it on his own. A knee injury destroyed John’s dreams for a college scholarship, but when he chews Black Gum in Original Black Ice Mint, he feels damn near invulnerable. So he’s got a new plan: rob a enough convenience stores to get a used car and get out of town. But if his dad, a cop, ever found out, he would find a way to kill him.

Although Black Gum is my attempt to tell a more family friendly story, something my nieces and nephews can enjoy, I developed the idea while also creating an art series called “Peace, Love and Scifi” in response to all the violence and dissonance in the world and in my own back yard. So the Black Gum comic will still cover issues that may be mature in nature, but I think we should discuss with the younger generations.
