So while all sorts of crummy things continue to happen, there are some good things, mostly I’ve been spending more time with my family–my mom and dad, brothers and sisters and nephews, and this last weekend I got to spend some time with the extended family on my dad’s side for my Aunt Clara’s surprise birthday party. (Almost a year in the making, it’s hard to believe we kept it a secret the whole time! Man, she was surprised!)

Anyway, I have been chipping away at my own problems and one of my biggest hurdles towards working on the comic again has been getting a decent computer to do all the post processing–the word balloons, digital washes, the sound effects, etc.–and I finally got one! I just couldn’t see putting out the comic with the tablet I used to produce Kizo last summer, so with some recources acquired through turning 44 (thanks, family!) I was able to not only get a decent refurbished computer, but a swanky HUION tablet too! It isn’t the three grand or even the three hundred dollar type, but it’s bigger and better than my dying bamboo tablet. The final ingredient is Clip Studio Paint, which I’ve had for several months, but I finally got to try it out with the HUION, and today’s featured image gives you an idea of what I can do now!

The Echo Girl is a story I’m working on that is neither Forsaken Stars nor Spiral Legion based, but it’s still sci-fi horror fantasy, with a bit of erotica thrown in. It’s a very personal story, and it’s been hard to write, but it’s also helped exorcise some demons. I hope to have it ready for ebook in a few weeks, but it’s still in its first draft stage, though I’m excited about it. I’ve been posting about it on Instagram, so follow me there @robsojourn, but more to come here too!

Thanks and God Bless!
