Fan Appreciation
Ali had a PR Unplugged event this weekend, and she invited me to come along. At first I was hesitant to go because it reminded me of what I used to do (marketing), but I thought they might have some ideas on how to improve the visibility and interactivity of Forsaken Stars. So I went and there was a speaker, Peter Lang, who spoke primarily about social media, which was just what I was looking for! I took copious notes, but couldn’t quite formulate a question I should ask, but later I checked out his own site and sent him a thanks, and he responded right away, saying he liked my site, and recommended I get a facebook fan page.
So, it’s up, and I would love your help with it! Because I want the page to be by the fans for the fans! Of course, it’s great for my ego, and I’ll post exclusive info and content from time to time, but I want to hear your input on the story so far and what you’re hoping to see in the future! If you have a little trouble getting started, here’s a quick questionnaire:
1. Which character do you like most so far?
The Vampire Azzi, Captain Sera, Prophet Ambassador XTL, Mr. President, or Sleath?
2. What’s been your favorite moment so far?
3. What do you like least about the comic?
4. Which character(s) are you most anxious to see?
Space Ninjas? Fabius the Angel, Naura the Mermaid, Leander the Gotham, Leelee the Fairien? Herman the Unicorn? (Okay, there isn’t really a Herman the Unicorn. Maybe a Sheldon.)
5. What do you want to see more of?
Robots, spaceships, ghosts, zombies, aliens?
6. Aside from the comic, what do you like best about the forsakenstars.com site:
Links: Have any recommendations on links you think I should have?
Blog: What topics would you like to see me cover?
Pages (Synopsis, Praise, Gifts, Store): Would you like to see some of the pages expanded? Do you have some fan art you’d like me to post?
That’s it! Post your answers here, or as comments at the Forsaken Stars facebook fan page! As always, thanks for reading and have fun!
No one’s done your survey yet? I’ll do it
1. Which character do you like most so far?
Capt. Sera, she’s spunky, I dig it.
2. What’s been your favorite moment so far?
ummmmm…I think the council room splash page was pretty awesome. Or when Sera tried to stake the vamp, that was cute ;p
3. What do you like least about the comic?
Honestly, and this may just be cause I’m a girl, that your girls have boobs but lack hips. I can see that’s generally the art style of this genre though.
4. Which character(s) are you most anxious to see?
Um, the unicorn, duh ;p I am looking forward to some kick-ass space ninja action.
5. What do you want to see more of?
Nothing really comes to mind. I think you have a good balance of things going on as it is, any more (ghosts, zombies, etc) could possibly get confusing.
6. Aside from the comic, what do you like best about the forsakenstars.com site:
I always love when I can read what the artist was thinking/going for when drawing a page. The interaction makes things feel more connected. I do read some comics where the artist just puts up a page and I’m dying to know what they were thinking.
Thanks, Liz! For being my first Facebook fan and for being the first to fill out this quiz, you get some art. (Of course, I started work on something before I knew you took this survey today, and I’ve owed you a piece of art for awhile now…so ack! I better get busy.) I dunno why I keep getting the big boob/little hip thing, but Aaron has said I taper all my figures, male and female, so I just went with it for this style. But since Sera’s body is based off of a ballet dancer’s, I strive to show she has almost no chest at all. And there’s a skinny ninja female (Feif), a curvy ninja female (Eyt), and an average ninja female (Terese). A few characters are ‘inspired’ by models, actresses, people I’ve known, and I guess most of them have c cups or larger, so couple that with my tapering style [from top to bottom] the result is what is on these pages 😀
Lately I’ve been struggling to get the pages out on time, since I’ve been putting more and more work into them, so the commentary has been slacking, but I’ll do my best to provide insight into what I’m thinking. It also helps when great friends like yourself shoot out some questions I’m more than happy to respond to! Thanks again!
Kick-ass ninja action coming right up!
