Black Gum Issue 1 Cover Art
I know I’ve been “radio silent” here for awhile, but if you follow me on instagram @robsojourn, you’ll know I’ve been drawing as much as I can when I’m not at the day job, working on something I call “Black Gum.” It’s a comic book idea along the lines of the comic Rising Stars or the TV Show Heroes, whereas instead of focusing on one super hero, it follows an ensemble cast of ordinary folks suddenly faced with extraordinary abilities. Only these folks gain them by chewing Black Gum, created by the mysterious PITCH Corporation, flavored with crystals which may or may not have alien origins. Black Gum comes in 67 flavors, but it is the Atomic Flavors line that seems to be responsible for igniting the abilities.
