A Dinosaur for Zander
This is a “sketch” I made for my friend Tammy at this past weekend’s BookFest 2011 at the Clovis Book Barn. It was supposed to be a quickie that I would do in ten to fifteen minutes at the Barn while she waited, but she had to run out and continue her Christmas shopping. She told me it was for a friend’s child who really loves dinosaurs, particularly Tyrannosaur Rex. So since she left me with the sketch, I went ahead and added more and more detail until it was a fully realized inked piece of art.
It really took me back to those first drawings I can remember doing as a kid, of dinosaurs, time travelers and scenes out of Star Wars. Thanks, Tammy, for having me draw such a nostalgic subject! I particularly enjoyed adding the volcanoes.
