Okay, gang, we’re at about the halfway mark in the Comic Creators Alliance fund drive to raise money that will go to Love146 and Gracehaven House, two orgs that fight human trafficking through prevention and aftercare programs. The former is global, and the latter is local, located in NW Ohio. By halfway mark, I mean time, not money raised. From CCA founder Lora Innes‘ Twitter: “…the CCA broke $3,000 today! Thanks for all the generosity, everyone!” So thank you to everyone that has donated so far, and to those who haven’t yet, I thought now would be a good time to tell you a little about the people that I’m familiar with that are participating in this year’s drive.

Adam Hughes
Anyone who knows comics, knows the name Adam Hughes, or at least his highly recognizable signature, “AH!.” He is highly regarded for his gorgeous depiction of women, most notably the women of DC and Marvel Comics. Wonder Woman is a particular favorite of his and his fans, and I cherish my AH! illustrated Buffy the Vampire Slayer “Once More, With Feeling” Soundtrack CD art.

Lou Graziani of Cy-Boar,
Jessica “Senshuu” Cantlope of Millennium and
Sheryl Schopfer of Deer Me
Just recently Lou was my Secret Santa and I was Senshuu’s Secret Santa in Sheryl’s Webcomic gift art exchange. They are all really nice and gracious people, and I’m not a bit surprised they are part of the fund drive. And their art is TOP NOTCH!

Byron Wilkins of 1977 the Comic
Bryon is a great, funny guy and runs one of the most professional and streamlined webcomics I’ve ever seen, and it’s got a great hook–70s classic rock’n’roll. He even provides a classic song with every strip! He’s also ofttimes part of the very entertaining TGT webcomics podcast that gives essential advice to webcomickers and would be webcomickers alike.

Sarah Ellerton of Inverloch
Sarah is one of the word’s premier digital comic painters, in my humble opinion, and her work never fails to jaw drop. When you’re done reading Inverloch, check out her current ongoing, The Phoenix Requiem!

Pam Harrison of  House of Muses, A Deviant Mind
Many of the comic creators participating in the CCA against human trafficking are new to me, and of course, this is my first year participating as well, but Pam Harrison’s CGI comics are definitely going on my Must Read List! Just check out her attention-getting CCA poster art. I love it!

In fact, if you cruise around all the links listed at the Comic Creators Alliance 2011 Participants List, you’ll see that quite a few of us are offering freebies and additional incentives to encourage you to donate to the CCA.

So what are you waiting for? Give today and then enjoy all the free webcomic goodness your eyes can stand!
